How to Sew on Boy Scout Merit Badges
Boy Scouts of America merit badges are a great way for scouts to show off their accomplishments and hard work. Sewing on these badges is an important part of the process, and it’s important to do it correctly so that the badge stays in place. Here’s how to sew on a Boy Scout merit badge.
Step 1: Gather Supplies
Before you start sewing, make sure you have all the supplies you need. You will need a needle, thread, scissors, and the merit badge itself. If you don’t have a needle and thread, you can buy them at any craft store or online.
Step 2: Thread the Needle
Once you have all your supplies, thread the needle with the thread. Make sure to tie a knot at the end of the thread so that it doesn’t come undone while you’re sewing.
Step 3: Position the Badge
Position the badge where you want it on your uniform or sash. Make sure it is straight and centered before you start sewing.
Step 4: Start Sewing
Start by pushing the needle through one corner of the badge and then back through another corner. Continue this pattern until you have gone around the entire badge. Make sure to pull tight each time so that it is secure.
Step 5: Tie Off Thread
When you have gone around the entire badge, tie off the thread by making a knot at one of the corners. Cut off any excess thread with scissors.
Step 6: Enjoy Your Badge!
You’re done! Now your badge is securely attached and ready to be displayed proudly on your uniform or sash.
