When was the Book Persuasion Written?

Persuasion is a novel written by Jane Austen and published in 1818. It was her last completed novel before her death in 1817. The novel follows the story of Anne Elliot, a young woman who is persuaded to reject a marriage proposal from Frederick Wentworth, an officer in the Royal Navy.

Background of Persuasion

Austen began writing Persuasion in August 1815 and finished it in August 1816. She wrote the novel while living with her brother Henry and sister Cassandra at Chawton Cottage in Hampshire, England. The novel was published posthumously in December 1817, six months after Austen’s death.
