Jorah Mormont’s Age in the Books
Jorah Mormont is a major character in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, which serves as the basis for the popular HBO show Game of Thrones. In the books, Jorah is described as being in his late thirties or early forties when he first appears.
Jorah is a knight from House Mormont, an ancient noble family from Bear Island in the North of Westeros. He is a skilled warrior and loyal companion to Daenerys Targaryen, whom he serves faithfully throughout the series. Jorah is also known for his wisdom and experience, having traveled extensively throughout Essos and beyond.
Jorah’s Age Throughout the Series
As the series progresses, Jorah’s age increases with each passing year. By the end of A Dance with Dragons, the fifth book in the series, Jorah is estimated to be around fifty years old. This makes him one of the oldest characters in the series, second only to Lord Varys.
Despite his age, Jorah remains a formidable warrior and loyal friend to Daenerys. He continues to serve her faithfully until his death at the Battle of Winterfell in A Dream of Spring, the seventh and final book in the series.
