How to Cite One Page in a Book in MLA Format
When citing one page from a book in Modern Language Association (MLA) format, you must provide the author’s name, the title of the book, the publisher’s name, and the year of publication. Additionally, you must include the page number on which the cited material appears.
Step 1: Gather Information
Before you can cite a single page from a book in MLA format, you need to gather some information about the source. This includes the author’s name, the title of the book, the publisher’s name, and the year of publication. You also need to know what page number contains the material you are citing.
Step 2: Create Citation
Once you have gathered all of this information, you can create your citation. Begin by listing the author’s last name followed by a comma and their first name. Then list the title of the book in italics followed by a period. Next, list the publisher’s name followed by a comma and then list the year of publication followed by a period. Finally, add “Page” followed by the page number on which your cited material appears.
