Materials Needed

To knit a holly berry, you’ll need the following materials:

  • Yarn in two colors (red and green)
  • Knitting needles
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Instructions

  1. Using the red yarn and your knitting needles, cast on 4 stitches.

  2. Knit one row in garter stitch (knit every stitch).

  3. Switch to the green yarn and knit one row in garter stitch.

  4. Switch back to the red yarn and knit one row in garter stitch.

  5. Bind off all stitches.

  6. Cut both yarns, leaving about 6 inches of tail for each color.

  7. Thread the tapestry needle with one of the tails and sew through all four stitches twice. Pull tight to close the berry.

  8. Weave in both ends of yarn securely.
