Belle Starr’s Husband

Belle’s first husband was Samuel Starr, who she married in 1866. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation and an outlaw who was involved in horse theft and other crimes. The couple had one daughter together, Pearl Starr, before they divorced in 1874.
Belle’s second husband was Jim Reed, whom she married in 1880. He was also an outlaw and a member of the Cherokee Nation. Together they had one son, Eddie Reed. Jim Reed was killed by a posse in 1886 while trying to escape arrest for horse theft.
