Bell was born in Lynwood, California in 1923. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II before returning to California to pursue a career in business. In 1946, he opened his first restaurant, which he named “Taco Tia”. This eventually led to the creation of Taco Bell in 1962. The chain quickly grew to become one of the most popular fast-food restaurants in the United States.

Bell retired from Taco Bell in 1978 but remained involved with the company as a consultant and board member until his death. He also founded several other businesses, including a real estate development firm and a frozen food company.

Glenn Bell passed away on January 16th, 2010 at the age of 86. He had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for several years prior to his death. His legacy lives on through Taco Bell, which continues to be one of the most popular fast-food chains in the world.
