Preventing Bed Bugs from Traveling with You
Bed bugs are a nuisance that can be difficult to get rid of once they have infested your home. To prevent them from traveling with you, there are several steps you can take.
Inspect Your Hotel Room
When you arrive at your hotel, inspect the room for signs of bed bugs. Look for small black spots on the mattress and sheets, as well as any live bugs. If you find any evidence of bed bugs, request a different room or ask to be moved to another hotel.
Keep Your Luggage Off the Floor
When staying in a hotel, keep your luggage off the floor and away from furniture. This will help prevent bed bugs from hitching a ride in your suitcase. If possible, store your luggage in plastic bags while in the hotel room.
Wash and Dry Your Clothes
When you return home from your trip, immediately wash and dry all of your clothes on the highest heat setting. This will kill any bed bugs that may have been hiding in your clothing.
