Bathing a Newborn Puppy

Newborn puppies are delicate and require special care. It is important to wait until the puppy is at least two months old before giving them their first bath. This will give the puppy time to build up its immune system and become more resilient to changes in temperature.

Preparing for the Bath

Before bathing your newborn puppy, make sure you have all the necessary supplies on hand. You will need a mild puppy shampoo, a soft washcloth, a towel, and a warm place to dry off the puppy after the bath. Make sure the water temperature is lukewarm and not too hot or cold.

Bathing Your Puppy

Once you have everything ready, it’s time to start bathing your puppy. Gently wet your puppy with the washcloth and then apply a small amount of shampoo. Massage the shampoo into your puppy’s fur and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. After rinsing, wrap your puppy in a towel and gently pat them dry. Finally, move your puppy to a warm area so they can finish drying off.
