Using a Fetoscope to Check Your Baby’s Heartbeat
A fetoscope is a specialized stethoscope used to listen to the fetal heartbeat during pregnancy. It is a safe and non-invasive way to monitor your baby’s health. With the help of a fetoscope, you can easily check your baby’s heartbeat at home.
Steps for Using a Fetoscope
1. Find a comfortable position: Lie down on your side with your belly exposed. Place a pillow under your head and one between your legs for support.
2. Locate the fetal heartbeat: Place the bell of the fetoscope on your abdomen and move it around until you hear a faint “whooshing” sound. This is the sound of your baby’s heartbeat.
3. Count the beats: Count the number of beats per minute (BPM). A normal fetal heart rate should be between 120-160 BPM.
4. Record the results: Write down the results in a journal or log book so that you can track any changes over time.
