Army Football Coach
The current head coach of the Army Black Knights football team is Jeff Monken. He was hired in December 2013 and has been the head coach ever since. Monken is a veteran college football coach, having previously served as an assistant at Navy, Georgia Southern, and Michigan State.
Jeff Monken’s Coaching Career
Monken began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Navy in 1995. He then moved on to become the offensive coordinator at Georgia Southern from 1997-2001. After that, he was the running backs coach at Michigan State from 2002-2006. In 2007, he returned to Navy as the offensive coordinator and associate head coach until 2013 when he was hired by Army.
Accomplishments with Army
Since taking over as head coach of Army in 2014, Monken has led the team to three bowl games (2015 Heart of Dallas Bowl, 2016 Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl, and 2018 Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl). He also led the team to its first Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy victory since 1996 in 2017. In 2019, Monken led the team to its first 10-win season since 1996.
