What Rank is a Staff Sergeant in the US Army?
A Staff Sergeant (SSG) is a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) rank in the United States Army. It is the fifth enlisted rank, just above Sergeant and below Sergeant First Class. The rank of Staff Sergeant is equivalent to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class in the United States Navy and Coast Guard, and to the rank of Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Duties of a Staff Sergeant
