How to Make Arm Cushions for a Glider

Arm cushions are a great way to add comfort and style to your glider. They can be made from a variety of fabrics, colors, and patterns to match any decor. Making arm cushions for a glider is an easy project that can be completed in just a few hours.

Step 1: Measure the Glider Arms

The first step in making arm cushions for a glider is to measure the arms of the glider. Measure the length, width, and depth of each arm. Write down these measurements so you can use them when selecting fabric and foam.

Step 2: Select Fabric and Foam

Once you have the measurements of the glider arms, you can select fabric and foam for your arm cushions. Choose a fabric that is durable and easy to clean. You will also need foam that is thick enough to provide comfortable support but not too thick that it won’t fit on the arms of the glider.

Step 3: Cut Fabric and Foam

Using the measurements you took earlier, cut out two pieces of fabric and two pieces of foam for each arm cushion. Make sure all four pieces are the same size.

Step 4: Sew Fabric Pieces Together

Place one piece of fabric right side up on a flat surface. Place one piece of foam on top of it, followed by another piece of fabric with its wrong side facing up. Pin all three layers together and sew around the edges using a sewing machine or by hand.

Step 5: Attach Cushion to Glider Arms

Slip the finished cushion onto each arm of the glider. Secure it in place with Velcro strips or other fasteners if necessary.

Step 6: Enjoy Your New Arm Cushions!

Now that your arm cushions are complete, sit back and enjoy your new comfortable seating!
