Creating an Octagon with Angles
An octagon is a polygon with eight sides and eight angles. To create an octagon, you must cut each angle to the same degree. The most common way to do this is to cut each angle at 45 degrees.
Calculating the Angle for an Octagon
To calculate the angle for an octagon, you need to divide 360 degrees (the total number of degrees in a circle) by 8. This will give you the degree measurement for each angle of the octagon: 360 divided by 8 equals 45 degrees.
Cutting the Angles for an Octagon
Once you have calculated the angle, you can begin cutting your octagon. You will need a protractor or other measuring device to ensure that each angle is cut accurately. Place your protractor on one corner of the octagon and mark off 45 degrees. Then move your protractor to the next corner and repeat until all eight corners are marked off at 45 degrees.
